The itinerary

Highlights: Luxury accommodation in two of South Africa’s premier reserves.

Phinda: Cheetah, Rhino, Lion.  7 distinct habitats.
Ngala: Leopards, Lion, Wild Dog, Elephants. Part of Greater Kruger National Park.

2 – 4 October. The trip begins at Phinda Mountain Lodge where we will spend the next 4 nights. Guests can fly in to King Shaka Airport in Durban where we will arrange road transfers to the lodge. At Phinda we will have twice daily game drives and enjoy sundowners and photographic tuition from David and Matt. This area is known for its diversity of animals and has excellent cheetah and rhino.

Phinda Mountain Lodge

Phinda Private Game Reserve is situated between the Mkuze Game Reserve and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. It now covers some 28 555 hectares of land. The area is extraordinary in that it covers seven different habitats. Of these the rare sand forest is perhaps the most fascinating. The western side of the reserve where Mountain and Rock Lodge are situated are on rocky ground while Vlei Lodge and Forest Lodge lie to the east along sandy ground.  Twenty chalets and conference facilities situated at the top of a lavish bushveld world, with panoramas of the Lebombo Mountains and the Lake St. Lucia coastal plains. Phinda is recommended as a photographic lodge because this is an excellent area for photographing cheetah. Rhino are also found here regularly as are lions, elephants and sometimes wild dogs.

5  – 9 October. On 5th we fly directly from Phinda to Ngala Safari Lodge in the Timbavati where we spend the next four nights enjoying the wonders of the Greater Kruger National Park. At Ngala we will have enjoy twice daily game drives and enjoy sundowners and photographic tuition from David and Matt.

Ngala Lodge

&Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge is a gracious, colonial-style safari lodge, set on the very edge of the Kruger National Park in the Timbavati Game Reserve. This lodge was the first private safari reserve to be incorporated in the world-famous Kruger National Park and has exclusive traversing rights over 19,485 square kilometres of game-rich wilderness. Renowned for its excellent accommodation. The lodge has great big five game viewing and is especially good for its leopard, lion and elephant. Wild dogs are also frequently encountered.

9 October. The tour is over and guests can make arrangements from Kruger National Park Airport to continue their journey. We can assist with all add on arrangements
