Photos and Africa is run by husband and wife team David Rogers and Jenni Saunders. David is a renowned photojournalist and author who became a photographic guide and travel planner in 2005. He’s knows Africa very well and its customs, people and special characters. He is a natural storyteller and enjoys sharing his knowledge and love of Africa. Jenni was driving Land Rovers before she was 20 and has worked in some of the finest lodges and wildlife companies in Africa. They live on a lake in Cape Town with their two boys and experience, write about and photograph Africa as often as school calendars and busy work schedules allow. “Over the years Jenni and I have visited hundreds of lodges and places,” says David. This website encapsulate a great deal of our knowledge and experience.

David runs private guided photographic workshops each year for small groups of up to 5 travellers. Many are repeat travellers. Therefore we pride ourselves that up to 80% of our travellers are return guests. We are spouse friendly and there are no egos on board. We are flexible and also arrange  group departures for families.

“We have  assessed every lodge and experience and you will see we rate with honesty the facilities, the beauty of the landscape, the quality of the wilderness experience, the attitude of the guides, the numbers of vehicles on the property and so much more.”

“Our mission is to give great advice, value, honest service and an amazing experience from the time you book until the time you depart. We promise you will never pay extra by using our services. ”

Photographers can learn about the best safaris, workshops, photo lodges,  photographic guides and other tips for photography in Africa.

I keep telling my family and friends that this was my best trip ever and it really was.  Thank you so much for putting it all together and of course all your expert advice.  I do feel that much more confident with my photography, able to enjoy the whole experience to the full.  I love the bush, that Mopani forest made my heart feel like bursting

I think you very much broadened our ‘photography’ horizon in that you gently weaned us away from slavishly ‘machine gunning’ poor innocent animals, and taught us to widen our lenses to include groups and landscape which we hadn’t done before. Our previous obsession with wide open lenses with small depths of field designed to fade everything but that all important eye were revised as we found far more interesting shots with greater depth of field, and inclusive of other interesting aspects. Naturally we have some very lovely shots of leopards but I’m actually more pleased with my landscapes, trees and very special effects. Frankly I think you did a great job in subtly changing and modifying our attitudes which I am very grateful for….. Read More
